Currently B.A.C.K. is tearing up the clubs in the South East portion of the US. The Queen of Dance, also known as B Angie B was born Angela Boyd in the small rural town of Morton, Mississippi. She grew up singing and honing her vocals in a local church. Immediately after graduating from Morton High School, B Angie B bought a one way ticket to Oakland to seek stardom.

It was not long after this relocation, that Boyd was discovered by producer James Earley. This chance meeting prompted Boyd to visit the studio of Earley which parlayed into a impromptu audition. Her pitch perfect vocals and her sensuous eye-catching looks demanded Earley to introduce this future star to MC Hammer. Once Boyd auditioned for him, the three time Grammy winner and eight time American Music Award winner persuaded her to sing background vocals on a few of his songs, eventually becoming a background singer for his tours.

Angela Boyd needed a stage name and Hammer was just the one to give her one. His advice turned into one of the most recognizable names in the music industry. His advice was, "Just Be Angie." In 1989, an all female rap group was formed called Oaktown's 3.5.7. B Angie B is credited with adding and arranging her vocals to the rap song "Juicy Gotcha Krazy" as well as appearing in the video along with Oaktown's 3.5.7. She continued to tour and produce background vocals for Hammer during his successful "Please Hammer Don't Hurt 'Em" album in 1990.

In 1991, B Angie B signed a recording contract with the Capitol-distributed Bust It label. That year, Bust It/Capitol released her self-titled debut album, which James Earley produced with his Northern California colleague Felton Pilate (formerly of the funk band Con Funk Shun). Bust It/Capitol released a few songs from B Angie B's album as singles, including "So Much Love" and remakes of two 1970s soul hits: Rufus & Chaka Khan's "Sweet Thing" and the Emotions' "I Don't Want To Lose Your Love". The video for "I Don't Want To Lose Your Love" was filled with the most energetic dance moves that made all the other female artists attempt to emulate but never could, those coining the phrase "Queen of Dance."

B Angie B created the style to bring soul music to a hip-hop and urban contemporary music. And it should be noted that was done before the rise of Mary J. Blige, Erykah Badu or Jill Scott. Today, B Angie B resides in Alpharetta, GA with her two children.
